Bearhunter [7.24.18]

Bearhunter are a long-running indie rock trio from Buffalo, NY consisting of Dave Calos (vocals and guitar), Mike Calos (drums), and Rob Pusateri (bass). While vacationing with their families at Thunder Bay in Fort Erie, Ontario, on July 24th, Dave asked me to capture light-hearted band portraits for the promotion of their new album, Nothing Further Beyond (Harvest Sum Recordings). Inspired by the crashing waves of Lake Erie and the pleasant rays of summer sunshine, the band wanted a "fun-in-the-sun" theme that highlighted their humorous side, complete with a Seinfeld-inspired beach golf concept. This photoshoot served as the prelude to Bearhunter's album release show on September 8th at Mohawk Place, which they also asked me to document. Overall, this was a tremendously fun and productive photoshoot, and I was pleased to work with a trio of terrific guys. All photos by Zach M Anderson.
